Dale Alexander
Back in Minneapolis
The studio/musician/tour/drummer/keyboardist...finally has time to slow down from his busy schedule to return home to Minneapolis Minnesota to re-unite with some of the old Prince alumni members.
Happy to be home, this is giving him time to reflect on the old times with a lot of the Minneapolis music legends, including Mint Condition, Alexander O'Neil; Morris Day; Cynthia Johnson; Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam. Being home has offered him the opportunity to meet with the next generations of performing artists and share his knowledge of being in the music business and what it takes to navigate through your musical experience. He is looking forward to having some private time to continue songwriting projects. Writing songs and being nominated for a Grammy has given him the motivation to continue to profect his craft as a drummer and keyboardist. Growing up in Minneapolis, Dale' first band was a trio with Prince and Andre Cymone. He recorded with Prince on the 94 East Street CD project right before Prince signed his solo contract. Subsequently Dale was touring with Prince on the Sign ‘O the Times World tour as the drummer for Madhouse (the opening act for the tour) |

Madhouse was the opening act for the Sign 'O the Times World Tour with Prince. They started out as a project between Prince and Mills Davis. Miles recorded his version of Madhouse selections, and Prince recorded his version. They both used their own musicians. Miles was very fond of Prince and his music, and would support the group by showing up at rehearsals from time to time. For more information about this project, click here.

As a songwriter, this is a moment we wait for is to be nominated by your peers. I feel very fortunate to have written a song for the legendary songwriter Robbie Krieger of the Doors, who wrote a song that we all know "Light My Fire". I met Robbie Krieger while he was in production of the movie "The Doors", directed by the great Oliver Stone. I performed on multiple recording projects and toured with him as his drummer and also when personnel changed, I was his pianist. What a great experience to tour the world with a legend who's known for his work as a member of The Doors.
